Ever wanted to mix bacon with your tacos? If you've had a hankering for this and are in the Philadelphia area, you're in luck. A local restaurant is offering a new creation called the "Bacon-Shell Burger Taco".
PYT, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is currently running its burger of the week, which is called the "Bacon-Shell Burger Taco", according to its
Facebook page (link courtesy of
Digital Spy).
PYT created the taco encased with a crusty bacon shell. The taco is filled with beef burger, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, lettuce, fresh pico de gallo and topped with a sauce made of avocado and cilantro. Forget the fries, this burger comes with tortilla chips and salsa on the side.
The company notes on its Facebook page "Available NOW in very limited supplies! (The bacon-shell tacos are very time consuming to make, and we are limiting them to 20 orders per day...so first come, first serve)."
According to
PYT's menu, each week the restaurant showcases a new burger that is dubbed "burger of the week" and appear to be unusual creations. During Christmas the restaurant offered a "Buttermilk-fried turkey leg patty topped with spinach, house-made goat cheese & sage mashed sweet potatoes, red wine sauce and crumbled sugar-plum mix."
Last month for the Christmas holiday, they also offered a pheasant burger. For Hanukkah, PYT offered a "Brisket & Latke Burger" and in October offered a fall-themed "Pumpkin Beer Burger".
Along with the rest of the world, PYT even went Gangnam Style. The
“Gangnam Style” Burger debuted three months ago.
If you're in the mood for a burger inside of a bacon taco shell, it'll run you about $11.
