If you live in India and love doughnuts, a time of happiness may come your way in a couple of days. United States dining chains such as McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Hooters, Denny's, and many others have expanded overseas and penetrating various markets across the world. Such examples would be Japan and China with the latter having various knockoff versions. There are several chains that found success in India as well. Perhaps Krispy Kreme could find potential in the Indian market.
Come January 19, Krispy Kreme will start its expansion into India. This concept is known as the "Donut Theatre
” which is going to be the first in 80 total stores to be available in South and West India. In short, Krispy Kreme is coming India's way.
When expanding into India's markets, Krispy Kreme will go by the franchise model where there will be both “factory stores” and “fresh stores.” These places will be owned by individual franchisees. Factory stores will make the doughnuts for serving and distribution while at the same time the fresh stores will simply serve them. The expansion is made possible due to an agreement between Krispy Kreme itself the Landmark Group with the latter being based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Landmark will work its end through its division known as Citymax Hotels India.
With Krispy Kreme available in many parts of the world, it's only a matter of time it would be made available to India. According to Krispy Kreme, there is much potential for growth. That is a possibility when you factor in the population of India.
