On Jan. 14
TMZ reported that Hogan had named the Laser Spine Institute in a $50 million lawsuit, stating that the company is a scam. Doctors lied to him, kept him out of work, and purposely took his money. Not once did the doctors fix him; it only made his career flop. Sources aren't sure whether he caused his own career damage, or the lack of work caused the damage.
Hulk has since received treatment from other doctors who were able to repair the spinal damage and undo what was done by SPI. It is because of this action that led Hogan to believe SPI is nothing more than a scam. He blames LSI for not telling him their surgeries were only a temporary solution; feeling this was important information that should have been disclosed with surgery number one.
On Jan. 15,
Examiner and
TMZ made another Hulk Hogan report; this one about John Cena and the Royal Rumble. Sources state that the $50 million Hogan is suing SPI for is the amount he would have been paid for the wrestling match with Cena. At the advice of his doctors, he didn’t perform. At the time, both reports had reported no contact or comment from Laser Spine Institute.
