Robert Langdon is back in Dan Brown's new novel, Inferno. The new release from Random House will center around Dante's Inferno.
Reports in the Huffington Post state that Transworld Publishers says the book will focus on "history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces."
Author Dan Brown was quoted by Vulture as saying, "Although I studied Dante's Inferno as a student, it wasn't until recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante's work on the modern world."
In partnership with NBC Universal, readers were invited to post to Facebook or Tweet using the hashtag #DanBrownToday, that they were helping to unveil the title of Dan Brown’s latest book. These fans were given the chance to get their profile pictures placed in a tile, that was part of a mosaic created by Hyperactivate, according to Transworld's press release.
A description of the book was released on Amazon, shortly after the name was released. "In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology, Robert Langdon, is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces, Dante’s Inferno." The description continued, "Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust, before the world is irrevocably altered."
The new book is expected to be a huge release for Random House publishers, who are merging with Penguin Books this year.
