A woman named Beautiful Existence (her legal name) has announced she plans to eat only Starbucks' food and drink for one full year. According to the Huffington Post
, the foods include Starbucks' brand, along with Tazo Tea and Evolution Fresh, since these products all fall under the coffee giant's brand.
Every year the Seattle woman sets a year-long challenge. Last year's challenge was living the "Parents Magazine" life; the year before she shopped strictly at Goodwill.
Why is she eating only from Starbucks for the year? Is it to lose weight like one Alexandria, Virginia woman did last year? Christine Hall, 66, lost over 75 pounds
from her Starbucks' diet.
Beautiful Existence's reason for doing so appears to be different, although losing weight is one of her goals.
My Northwest spoke to Beautiful Existence who explained more about her goals. She plans to keep healthy and lose some weight in the process by carefully making selections. Additionally, she wants to "show" the world how Starbucks benefits communities.
"The company pays good benefits for part-time workers. That's where my money is going," Beautiful Existence said, reported My Northwest
Reportedly, another reason for her Starbucks' diet is to "experience the plight of those less fortunate than Americans", reported Eater
"We're really lucky and I would say actually spoiled as Americans because we have all these different eating options...You go to all these other countries and they don't have these luxuries. Really? Is it really going to be that hard for one year of my life to limit my menu? We'll find out," Beautiful Existence says.
The Seattle mom is documenting her experience via her blog
for the world to read.
According to her Jan. 10 entry
she's also lost weight.
"Before I end this post tonight I will add that my attempts to lose weight this month are working. I’ve already lost another 4 pounds since last week and with limited to no calories in my new Tazo tea (with ginger-infused sugar)", Beautiful Existence wrote.
To date, her daily meal expenditures at Starbucks and its other brand stores are averaging about $18.79 a day.
