Penang - Just in case it just isn't enough to share your cute kitty images on Facebook and Twitter, a new social media site has been started up in Penang, Malaysia - just for cats.
According to their "About" page, "Catmoji is a place for cat lovers to share and discover cat pictures and videos by expressing themselves through emoji [the Japanese term for the picture characters or emoticons used in Japanese electronic messages and webpages]."
Apparently Catmoji was initially a part of "Start-Up Chile", a program of the Chilean Government to attract world-class early stage entrepreneurs to start their businesses in Chile. However, the website is currently based on the beautiful island of Penang, Malaysia.
Malaysian developers launched the special, invitation-only social network for cat lovers recently. They say that the website is for people with a feline fixation to have their own separate place to display love for their pets and post gigabytes of cat pictures without distressing their not-so-cat-loving friends.
There will be no news, politics or statuses, just photos and videos of cats.

The team "consists of a geeky programmer and a funky designer. Besides English, Chinese, Malay and some broken Spanish, they speak catz. When not working on Catmoji, they are either on Catmoji satisfying their guilty pleasures or talking to cats."
Matthew Phiong is a co-founder and developer and Koekoe Loo is a co-founder and "chatty illustrator" at Catmoji.
