"Men In Black 3" star Josh Brolin spent a few hours in a Santa Monica, California jail after he was arrested for misdemeanor public intoxication reports say. Brolin is starring in the film "Gangster Squad" which opens this week.
TMZ reports police say he was arrested just before midnight New Years Day, booked into jail at 3:02 a.m. and released at 7:14 a.m. on January 2.
CBS News reports Santa Monica Police Lt. Darell Lowe, says the actor was not given a citation for the arrest implying that he may not appear in court.
According to Lowe, Brolin was arrested after he was found "heavily intoxicated" on a Santa Monica sidewalk. He was booked into jail and released after he had sobered up.
The Huffington Post reports that the 44.year-old actor paid $250 bail.
CBS News reports this is not the first time that police have arrested Brolin in drink-related offense. In 2009, after filming Oliver Stone's "W," Brolin, a fellow cast member Jeffrey Wright and five others were arrested after a bar fight in Shreveport, LA.
TMZ reports that he was partying with friends on New Year's Day and according to a source close to the actor, he had "too much fun."
