The European-based video game media outlet known as Eurogamer has released two videos
about “DmC: Devil May Cry” which is due for release in mid-January. This game is the fifth installment of Capcom's popular “Devil May Cry” series and franchise; but, this is not part of the series' continuity. Instead, DmC: Devil May Cry is a reboot of the series with a completely new story, a more urban-Westernized feel to the game, and a new younger appearance of Dante.
In this two videos, Eurogamer gives a brief glimpse of what missions 8 and 9 will be like once the full game comes out in the market. In the mission 8 video, a brief part of the Dante's back story is explained by a Phineas who is a newcomer to the series and part of the series' reboot.
With regards to the reboot, Dante is revealed to be a “Nephilim” instead of being half-human and half-demon in the previous series. As a Nephilim, it means that Dante is half-demon and half-devil. These race of beings had the powers of both angels and demons; plus, they had the ability to cross between worlds. Thus being considered a dangerous race of beings, the Nephilim were hunted down and exterminated in a systematic genocide. According to Phineas, Dante has potential.
In the Mission 9 demonstration video, from Eurogamer, it talks about coming across enemies which require you to use your noggin. However, that is easier said than done when you're in an environment where you could easily fall off the platform and forced to respawn.
In Mission 8 demonstration video, it shows the importance of not depending on solely one weapon or strictly demon or angel weapons. To get through the missions and defeat all the enemies, the video shows that you have no choice but to utilize both your demonic and angelic weapons.
Unlike the previous Devil May Cry games, this game is more than just your hack, slash, and shoot game. This game will be released in mid-January for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It will be released a few days later for the PC.
