Dubai - In Dubai, UAE, fireworks lit up the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, with a live orchestra playing in the New Year.
With a background of orchestral music, and a lot of "oo's and ah's", a spectacular firework display lit up the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, as Dubai celebrated the New Year.
Fireworks completely covered the 828-metre (2,716-foot) tower, and were synchronised and choreographed to a live performance by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Rami, a Jordanian resident told AFP: "This is a very special event. We came to see it after all we had heard about it."
For those who want the best view of the event, you can book a window table on the 122nd floor of the building at Atmosphere - a restaurant 422 metres (1,350 feet) up in Burj Khalifa. The cost? A mere 16,000 dirhams (4,300 dollars) per person. Happy New Year!
