Hong Kong celebrated the start of 2013 with a spectacular firework display - the largest the city has ever seen - attended by tens of thousands of people.
While maybe not as big as the extravaganza in
Sydney, Australia, Hong Kong put on a grand display to around 100,000 people as the clock struck midnight, and entered a brand new year.
The festivities were also caught on YouTube.
The cost is estimated to be a huge 12.5 million Hong Kong dollars ($1.5 million US), and is said to be the biggest ever held in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor.
The pyrotechnic show lasted eight minutes, and was launched from both sea and land. The surrounding Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center is where Britain handed over the city's sovereignty to China in 1997.
