Houston - According to a Bush family spokesman, former President George H.W. Bush's condition is improving and has been moved from the Methodist Hospital's intensive care unit to a regular patient room.
Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said Saturday, "President Bush's condition has improved, so he has been moved today from the intensive care unit to a regular patient room at The Methodist Hospital to continue his recovery."
McGrath went on to add, "The Bushes thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes."
The 88 year-old Bush was hospitalized November 23 and treated for a persistent bronchitis-related cough. He was later transferred to the hospital's intensive care unit on December 23 after developing a fever.
McGrath told the press Saturday that future updates on the former President's condition will be issued as warranted.
At age 88, President Bush is the nation's oldest living former President.
