A creative Snoop Lion fan (the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg) has crafted a likeness of the rap artist using marijuana.
Creative "Snoop Lion" fan and obvious cannabis connoisseur Jason Mercier has crafted a likeness of the rap artist using marijuana joints, half-smoked roaches and cannabis buds. The unique portrait can be viewed at PigeonsandPlanes.com.
The rapper, whose given name is Calvin Broadus, recently made a moniker change. So why did Snoop change his stage name from "Snoop Dogg" to "Snoop Lion?"
According to Huffington Post, the rapper recently converted to Rastafarianism. In Jamaica where Rastafarianism originated, calling someone a dog would be perceived as extremely insulting.
The use of cannabis by Rastas is a sacred ritual used to promote feelings of peace and belonging. It's no surprise that this faith tradition appeals to the very vocal marijuana advocate.
Snoop Lion has come under fire for admitting publicly that he indulges in marijuana with his 18-year old son.
“Most people never give it a second thought to have a glass of wine or a cocktail with their children when they are of age. For the Broadus family, it’s bong rips,” says rocker Morrissey.
So far, there's no word yet on what "Snoop Lion" thinks of the "high-ly" creative portrait.
