With 2013 around the corner, thoughts turn to the summer tourist season, as British Airways publishes its top 13 destinations for next year.
With Croatia's EU entry set for next July, its popular tourism industry was handed a further boost on December 26, 2012, with
British Airways naming it its number four destination for 2013.
The airline, which has operated flights to the popular city of Dubrovnik for several years, introduced a
service to Zagreb earlier this month from London, and is among several airlines which have increased services to the Dalmatian coast for the 2013 season, as previously reported by
Digital Journal.
While Dubrovnik remains the jewel of Croatian tourism, there are also significant events further up the Adriatic coast, as airports servicing the popular Dalmatian islands such as Hvar, Brac and Korcula, increase their interests in the Croatian coast.
The latest major boost was
Ryanair's announcement that it was opening its 54th base (and the first in Croatia) at Zadar, north of Split, while simultaneously announcing seven new routes.
