The Christmas Eve tradition of Greek children collecting money through carol singing was marred this year. In six separate incidents the youngsters became victims, robbed of their coins
To Vima reported there were five incidents of young carol singers robbed of their Christmas coin collection in Athens.
There was a sixth incident in Thessoliniki where minors were threatened at knife-point before thieves made off with their money. Two teenagers were later arrested.
In Athens police recorded five robberies against children according to
Proto Thema. In one incident two boys aged 10 and 12 were robbed of their Christmas coins and mobile phones, at knife-point.
All the victims were children participating in the Christmas tradition of carol singing with triangles.
