Yoga Guru Ramdevbaba and former Army Chief VK Singh named in FIR

Delhi - Yoga guru Baba Ramdev along with the former Army Chief, General V.K. Singh, and a large number of his followers staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against the gangrape of a para-medical student.
It is reported that both of them has named in an FIR registered in connection with the clashes between their supporters and police at Jantar Mantar during the protest.
After a brief speech at Jantar Mantar yesterday, Ramdev along with Singh and others had started marching towards India Gate but police stopped them. As soon as Ramdev and Singh got down from the stage, police cordoned off the area and the protesters sat at the spot.
The police lathi-charged them when they tried to break the barricade, preventing them from marching towards the India Gate. However, the supporters started marching towards India Gate and tried to break barricades following which police resorted to use of force. Two persons suffered injuries in the riot.
The FIR gave the sequence of events that led to the clashes between police and protesters.
A total of four cases of rioting and destruction of public property have been registered.
