Jeremy's father taught him how to play guitar at a young age; a hobby he continued with through life. After high school Jeremy attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Southern California. One of the worship leaders heard him play in the kitchen of the school and he urged Camp to become part of the worship team. Soon after he was leading worship all over Southern California. His college attendance lasted two years.
Jeremy married his first wife, Melissa Henning, on October 21, 2000 after finding out she had ovarian cancer. In his book, I Still Believe, he chronicles the life-changing event and how he began to question his faith. Melissa wanted nothing more than to get married. Knowing she would soon die, he wanted to provide her with that last wish. She passed away on February 5, 2001, at the age of 21. Camp was 23.
December 2003 Camp married his second wife, Adrienne Liesching, former singer of The Benjamin Gate. Together they have two daughters and one son.

With Christian artist, the Christmas fans are already built-in, so it was a win-win for popular Christian artist, Jeremy Camp, to produce a full-length Christmas album.
