A promotional video trailer for the upcoming Japanese anime series called "Amnesia" has been made available for viewing. The series airs across Japan in January 2013.
Anime, which is both a domestic and international commodity of Japan, is very different from cartoons from the west. In the case of North America, cartoons are usually geared towards little kids to teenagers. However, that isn't the case of Japanese anime as it is geared towards all crowds, all ages, and all demographics. There are going to be titles for everybody and of different interests. In the case of females, there are plenty of titles that appeal to those crowds. That means there are titles that can be deemed as “chick flicks.”
The upcoming Japanese anime called “Amnesia” is an example of how anime can appeal to females who are part of the young adult demographic. This is one of the many anime titles adapted from a game, a manga, or a visual novel. Amnesia or “Amuneshia” is adapted from a visual novel series of the same name. The visual novel series is developed and published by Idea Factory. They are available for the Japanese port of the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). The story of the anime is seemingly the same as in the visual novels.
This is a romance-themed series which focuses on a female who is simply called the “Heroine.” The story begins on August 1 in which the Heroine wakes up somewhere with no memory of her past; thus, she has amnesia. She meets a male named Orion who calls himself a spirit. From there, the story focuses on the nameless Heroine interacting with many characters (especially males) while trying to reclaim her lost memories and find happiness with the person who's supposed to be her “boyfriend.”
Amnesia airs in Japan on January 8, 2013. It will be broadcast on various networks across Japan. In the case of North America, an English-subbed version might be available on sites such as Hulu and Crunchyroll. From the looks of this promotional video, Amnesia looks to be an enchanting romantic story aimed at young adult females.
