Christmas is a time when family and friends come together, as well as a time of remembering those we have lost. Wreaths Across America honors and remembers those who have lost their lives in service to their country.
The Wreaths Across America project began in 1992 when Maine businessman, Morril Worchester, decided to expand the annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Becoming an official non-profit organization that same year, the mission of the organization is to "Remember, Honor, and Teach". Since 1992, the organization has helped to coordinate wreath laying ceremonies at National Cemeteries in all 50 states.
Wreaths were laid in Arlington National Cemetery on December 17, 2012, continuing the decades long tradition.
