With the news that it is 12/21/12 and no signs of the Apocalypse, we may heave a sigh of relief and indulge in some lighthearted celebration of yet another failed doomsday prophecy. Celebration? For the 1%, yes, obviously; but for the 99%?
Whatever, it's business as usual for the online meme creators who have literally been laughing in the face of doom, as
MSN Now puts it, churning out irreverently witty doom-defying memes below.
But for those who must have the world end today after having invested half-a-decade in today's end-of-world catastrophe, we have a desperate doomsday-prediction-saving suggestion. It is a big universe. The doomsday really starts in Alpha Centauri, four light-years away. Y'know, according to Einsteinian physics, it takes four years for the effect of the apocalypse catastrophe to reach us here on planet Earth.
So, check the charts and re-calculate the position of the stars and constellations, er, the doom effects will reach planet Earth in 2016.
