article imageTim Hortons rewarding customers with 'random cups of kindness'

By Andrew Moran     Dec 18, 2012 in Business
Oakville - Starting Tuesday until Saturday, Tim Hortons will be undergoing a "This One's On Us" campaign at many locations across Canada and the United States. When customers make their order, they will be randomly selected to receive a free order.
It’s that time again. It’s the season to be jolly, merry, thankful and giving, which is why Tim Hortons will be thanking its customers with its Random Cups of Kindness campaign from Dec. 18 to Dec. 22.
Thousands of customers at more than 3,000 Canadian locations and more than 300 American locations will be chosen at random when they place their orders, which will be free of charge. Ordering a large double-double and a box of doughnuts? It’s not Tim’s.
Furthermore, on top of their free order, Tim Hortons will also give those lucky winners a red bracelet as a memento. Canada’s largest coffee chain is encouraging everyone to share their experience online through Facebook and Twitter.
“At Tim Hortons we have the honour of serving millions of guests each and every day," said David Clanachan, COO at Tim Hortons, in a press release. "With the hustle and bustle of the season upon us, we thought this would be the perfect time to show our appreciation and randomly surprise many of our loyal guests with a free order."
The campaign is being extended online. Each day throughout the five-day campaign, 100 Canadians who mention Tim Hortons in their tweets will be given a Tim Hortons gift card.
“Our guests regularly connect with us in a variety of different environments, whether online at home, in restaurants or on-the-go with smart phones," added Clanachan. "They place orders, share experiences and give us great feedback. We want to thank them all and share Random Cups of Kindness with as many as we can."
Tim Hortons is celebrating Christmas with its limited edition holiday mugs and Christmas ornaments. All of its coffee cups are also specially designed for Christmas (see photo above).
