The latest video
for the upcoming game called “Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel” has been released. Game Trailers interviewed Zach Mumbach, who is the producer of the game. When speaking with Game Trailers, Mumbach gave the an overview of the details surrounding Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. This game is the third installment of the popular co-operative shooter series known as “Army of Two.” In the story, you and your partner (human or AI-controlled) are thrust into Mexico
which is engaged in a drug war. You are tasked with taking down a drug cartel.
As Mumbach explains that teamwork between you and your partner plays a crucial role in the game play. He further explains that using different tactics also play a crucial role. In that respect, Mumbach talks about destructible cover. That means you cannot simply hide behind one area for the duration of a gun battle. In this respect, you have to constantly move from one area to another to avoid getting killed by the enemies.
In terms of characters, Rios and Salem from the previous two games, will not be the protagonists. Instead, you take on the role of two new characters “Alpha” and “Bravo.” The former is the “by the book” person while the latter is the “adapt as you go” person. With this said, the relationship between the two of them will play an important role in the story.
When it comes to enemies, you'll start off fighting the typical thugs who have little to no actual training. As the game progresses, you'll face tougher enemies in the form of mercenaries hired by the drug cartels. Meaning, you'll start off fighting off the dumb enemies while you'll come across smarter and tougher enemies later. While the game is geared towards two-player co-op game play, the developers explain the hard work put in for the AI in case you decide to play on your own.
Game Trailers says that this game will be out on March 25, 2013. It will be available for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It is developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts.
