Illinois woman allegedly runs over boyfriend, burning his scrotum

Tinley Park - An Illinois woman has been jailed on $100,000 bond after she allegedly ran over her boyfriend with her car, causing severe burns over much of his body, including his scrotum.
The Chicago Tribune reports that 23-year-old Christine A. Meyers of Tinley Park was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery after the Friday incident.
Meyers allegedly got into an argument with her boyfriend after picking him up from a bar on Friday night. When the couple arrived at the apartment they both share, the unnamed victim reportedly got out of the car and laid down on the ground in front of the vehicle.
Prosecutors allege that Meyers then drove over him with the car, burning his chest, his back and his scrotum. The burns tore the skin off his testicles, an injury that required surgery.
Judge Adam Bourgeois, Jr. of the Cook County Bond Court set bond at $100,000. Meyers' attorney had asked for a much lower bail of $6,000, meaning that the defendant would only have to post $600 to get out of jail, but Bourgeois rebuffed his request.
"Are you serious? You're asking me to set a bond of $600 for driving over somebody?" Bourgeois incredulously asked.
"People argue every day, and they don't resort to violence," the judge added.
