Newcastle - A bandit in Australia made off with several thousand dollars in cash money belonging to a 58-year-old unnamed tourist on Jimmys Beach.
The four-legged thief fled and was later shot and killed; it was identified as a dingo, hence no charges have been filed, according to UPI.com.
The dingo was fingered by witnesses who placed him at the scene and running off with the woman’s beach bag containing her cash and jewelry, according to an Australian Broadcasting Corp. report aired on Monday.
"The offending dingo was photographed by witnesses and was clearly identified as having one leg predominantly white," Port Stephens Crime Manager Acting Inspector Matthew Maroney said.
Maroney said the dingo “has been the subject of numerous complaints in recent months,” and added that the tourist’s money and valuables were not found at the scene of the dead dog’s demise.
Jimmys Beach is just north of Newcastle in New South Wales.
