Nancy Lanza was shot four times in the head before
Adam Lanza left their home in Newtown, Ct. headed for the school.
The single mother of two is now being described as a 'prepper' who loved collecting guns. It is known that she frequented shooting ranges while it remains unclear if her children were with her.
As in the case of breaking news stories the first hours of the shooting misinformation was reported. The name of the shooter was first given as Ryan Lanza, the older brother. By mid-afternoon the name of Adam appeared but it would only be in the evening that it was confirmed by the police that Adam Lanza was the gunman.
It was reported that
Lanza walked into the school easily. In fact Lanza broke a window at the front door to gain entry to the school at around 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance has confirmed that Lanza was not buzzed into the building entering with guns that were owned by his mother. He had been unable to purchase his own.
It is clear that Lanza went to the school on a mission to take lives. The bullets that were used were especially deadly. He had enough ammunition to kill every person at the school.
Quick thinking teachers hid their children in closets and cubbies to protect them. Doors were quickly locked. Those quick actions saved countless lives.
