The latest video for "The Last of Us" released gives a brief but in-depth look in the voice and motion capture process of the story's development.
The video game company known as Naughty Dog has released the latest video in respects to its upcoming game title called “The Last of Us.” This game is an example of the increased popularity of survival/dramatic horror games. In the story of The Last of Us, Earth is dealing with a post-apocalyptic era. There is a lack of order and so forth as typical in any post-apocalyptic storyline. Asides with dealing with the usual, you have to deal with bandits that want to take your supplies & life, and the mutated creatures. Nowadays, video games are much more than just simply games. Major video games have the cinematic effects of major movies and the depth of novels; but, video games have the interaction granted in either books or movies.
In this latest video, which is relatively short, gives viewers a glimpse of what it's like to actually develop the storyline of The Last of Us. The focus is on the development of Tess who looks to be one of the major characters in the game. Actors not only do the voice work of the characters, they do the motion capture or “mocap” work. It this short video, it shows the amount of effort has gone forth to ensure that the characters are not simply characters in the game; but, they are actual living, breathing, thinking, and feeling human beings.
The game is due to be released somewhere in 2013 exclusively for the Playstation 3.
