Washington - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is reportedly recovering after sustaining a concussion. A State Department spokesman Philippe Reines, said: "While suffering from a stomach virus, [she] became dehydrated and fainted, sustaining a concussion."
The statement, according to Reuters, continued: "She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors. At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with department and other officials. She is looking forward to being back in the office soon."
Reuters reports that Clinton fell ill with a stomach virus last weekend, forcing her to cancel a planned trip to the Middle East and North Africa.
Clinton had been slated to testify Thursday on Capitol Hill about the Sept. 11 Benghazi attack in which four Americans, including the US ambassador, were killed, AP reports. However, Congressional aides told the AP that she may be unable to testify as scheduled.
