A CCTV footage shows a 39-year-old Chinese woman Wang Liyang, as she delivers her baby unaided in a bus. She reaches under her clothes and draws out the baby while her 3-year-old son watches, enraptured by the rare opportunity of a lesson in biology.
As the woman delivers her baby, other passengers come to her assistance, while the bus driver, alerted to the momentous drama unfolding on his bus, races toward the nearest hospital in Chengdu, Sichuan province in China, the Daily Mail reports.
The video shows the woman's birth (amniotic) fluid streaming to the floor. Other passengers, noticing something was wrong, question her, but she is unable to speak because she is in pain. The video shows the woman holding the baby upside down after birth. She pats the baby's bottom, apparently to clear his airway, WorldViralVideoNews explains.
Later, we see the woman with the baby on her laps. Passengers pass her blankets to wrap the baby and keep him warm.
The bus passes an ambulance, and passengers wave frantically for it to stop. The ambulance took the woman and her baby the rest of the way to the hospital, according to WorldViralVideoNews.
Both mother and newborn are safe. The baby is a healthy boy weighing seven pounds, three ounces.
According to WorldViralVideoNews, the woman had boarded the bus, ominously numbered 666, with her 3-year-old son and was reportedly heading for the Chengdu Medical College after she began feelings pains she thought might be birth pangs.
