The Pakistani Taliban had a Facebook page for a few weeks, but Facebook decided to shut down the recruiting page over the weekend.
According to Washington Post, the Facebook page was recruiting contributors for a new magazine called Ahyah-e-Khilafat. The page had 281 likes and it also included posts in English, which were mostly posts looking for people to fill job positions such as video editor, translator and writer of current affairs and Islamic movements.
According to Telegraph, sources say that the page was set up by a media unit that is afffiliated with the Tehreek-eTaliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to IBTimes, the Pakistani Taliban is a group that became established in 2007 in order to topple the Pakistani government.
The group has also been linked to al-Qaeda, and also has been linked to several serious attacks in Pakistan.
