In an original animated video that won the 2012 Machinima Interactive Film Festival, one can see a redux of "Grand Theft Auto V's" trailer; but, in LEGO block format.
After all this time, LEGO blocks and sets still remain relevant in today's world as a form of entertainment. This is especially when it comes to the younger crowd of children. If you love to build things, then you probably love LEGO sets. Within the last several years, LEGO has made its way into many popular film and comic franchises. You have games such as “LEGO Batman: The Video Game,” “LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures,” “LEGO Star Wars,” “LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “LEGO The Lord of the Rings.” In a sense, LEGO somewhat has made its way into the “Grand Theft Auto” series.
Machinima's Interactive Film Festival picked its winner of original content. This one was of the trailer for the upcoming video game “Grand Theft Auto V” which is the direct sequel in Rockstar Games' GTA series. It's a retelling of the storyline behind GTA V; but, it's done with LEGO blocks. This does show a possibility of GTA being crossed over with LEGO blocks. However, that was not the only animated video entered into the contest that used LEGO blocks. There was an original video animation for “Portal 2” that also utilized LEGO blocks.
On a related note, Grand Theft Auto V won the award as most anticipated game of the year at Spike TV's 2012 Video Game Awards.
