article imageHuffington Post gets new CEO

By Owen Weldon     Dec 8, 2012 in Business
The Huffington Post will have a new person to oversee the day-to-day business of the company because it has named a new CEO.
According to NY Times, Huffington Post decided to name Jimmy Maymann as the new CEO, effective immediately. Before being appointed CEO, Maymann ran the news site's international expansion efforts. Maymann will report to Arianna Huffington, who will remain the editor and chief.
According to Reuters, Maymann once headed AOL international. He joined the AOL team after the AOL bought, which he co-founded. AOL also purchased Huffington Post back in 2011 for around $300 million.
According to The Wrap, Mymann also launched a digital consultancy called Neo Ideo, and that was back in 1995. He then sold Neo Ideo in 2000.
Maymann also served on the board of Polar Rose, which is a facial recognition company that Apple bought in 2010.
