London - This week a prank call to the hospital where Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was being treated made the news again. Today it is being reported that the nurse who handled that call has been found dead from an apparent suicide.
The nurse who dealt with two Australian radio disc jockeys making a prank call to the hospital where Princess Catherine was being treated for extreme morning sickness was found dead Friday morning. She has worked at the hospital for over four years. It is being reported that the woman committed suicide.
The Washington Post reports:
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies at this time are with her family and friends,” said John Lofthouse, the hospital’s chief executive said in a statement. “Everyone is shocked by the loss of a much loved and valued colleague.”
Jacintha Saldanha was working reception at King Edward VII Hospital when the Australian radio DJs called. Pretending to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles the pranksters were given medical information.
