article imageHunter gored by deer

By Owen Weldon     Dec 5, 2012 in World
Everett Gray is an experienced hunter who has been hunting all kinds of animals since he was around 12-years-old, but he said he is all done hunting for deer.
According to CBS, Gray, from New Hampshire, said that he was gored by a deer after he spotted the deer just across the street from his own home.
According to The Union Leader, Gray said that after he spotted the deer he decided to grab his rifle and see if he could shoot it. Gray fired and hit the deer but then it took off. Gray said he then followed the deer and found it on the ground.
Gray said he then walked up to the deer and then patted in between the antlers and thanked the deer for giving its life. Gray said that is when the deer got up and ended up rolling down the hill. He said that the deer got tangled in underbrush, and the deer lunged at him when he approached it.
Gray said the the deer drove its horn right into him and picked him up and then slammed him into the ground.
According to Gray, the deer's antler went four inches into his side but none of his organs were hit. Gray was then treated at a nearby hospital.
Gray said that he doesn't blame the deer for acting the way it did, and that he was impressed with its strength it showed after it was shot.
