Mitt Romney, former presidential candidate and governor of Massachusetts, will be rejoining the Marriott International's board of directors.
According to Yahoo, Romney has held the post twice before. He held the post from 1993 to 2002, when he left to go and campaign for governor of Massachusetts, and once again from 2009 to 2011, when he left to run for president.
According to Boston Globe, Romney said that it was an honor to serve the company again, as well as being honor to support the work of thousands of Marriott associates who make the company the success that it is.
According to Washington Post, this is the first job announcement that Romney has made since he lost the November election to President Barack Obama.
Romney has always been connected to the Marriott dynasty, and he was named after J.W. Marriott. Willard Mitt Romney and Marriott's full name was John Willard Marriott. Marriott was close friends with Romney's father.
