NYPD Officer Larry DePrimo became an national sensation for a picture that was taken of him. DePrimo, in an act of kindness, was photographed by Jennifer Foster who was visiting from Arizona. In the CNN article, Foster sent the picture of DePrimo to the NYPD. In turn, the NYPD posted the picture on its Facebook page.
This was an act of kindness and compassion that ended up getting caught on photo. It showed an example of how an officer lived up to being one of New York's finest. DePrimo was photographed giving a homeless man a pair of shoes. While many are talking about it, DePrimo said that it wasn't a big deal for him. Things like this happen all the time for DePrimo and other NYPD officers. It was this time, DePrimo's act of kindness got recorded and eventually uploaded onto the Internet.

When on CNN, DePrimo said that he had to help the man. He explained that, even at ten to fifteen feet away, one could see the blisters on the man's feet. While DePrimo paid $75 for the shoes, they were actually $100. However, the store manager knew why DePrimo was buying the shoes and gave him the employee discount.
DePrimo would technically meet Foster. While on CNN, DePrimo got to talk to Foster who was on the phone. Foster said that DePrimo's action was reminiscent as her father was a police officer. When talking to CNN, Foster told the story of how her father took a chance and bought breakfast for a homeless person. She said that in thought, the action was remarkable.
Foster works for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office as a civilian communications director.
In this regard, DePrimo feels that it inspires other to help strangers in need. The receipt from the store where he bought the shoes still remains in his bulletproof vest.
This is perhaps one of the most heart warming acts that the world can see. The picture could give something to think about as we're in the month of Christmas. Christmas Day is twenty-three days away.
