China's latest Internet meme, "Aircraft Carrier Style," went viral on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, after the news report that the Chinese military has accomplished the landing and take off of a fighter jet from its first aircraft carrier.
According to China Smack, Chinese netizens, amused by the comic pose of two aircraft carrier personnel in the report, soon began uploading images of themselves parodying the pose. The pose, combined with the South Korean rapper Psy's “Gangnam Style,” has gone viral on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, as "Aircraft Carrier Style."
Digital Journal reports that the Chinese military recently landed a J-15 jet fighter on its first aircraft carrier. According to Digital Journal, "The landing was one of a series of operational tests of the Liaoning, a Soviet-made ship refurbished to serve as an aircraft carrier."
