Kansas City - Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, was placed on lockdown early Saturday morning after police say a player killed himself after shooting his girlfriend, according to a tweet from Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forte.
The shootings involve a Chiefs player and his girlfriend, is reporting.
Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.
Police confirm the first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. Police were called to the 5400 block of Crysler, where police found a woman in her 20s shot and in critical condition, KC's FOX 4 News reports.
The second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.
Police have not released the identity of the player.
It's unknown if people were at Arrowhead or any of its surrounding facilities at the time.
