When it comes to expanding fast food markets, it seems that Japan has refined it into an art form. In the case of Kentucky Fried Chicken of Japan, it's expanding to airline service. Specifically, KFC will be available on the Japanese air carrier called Japan Airlines. If you enjoy Kentucky Fried Chicken, then you might be in luck if you decided to take a flight from Japan to either the United States or Europe. Keep in mind this will be only available on certain flights.
This meal will be known as an “Air Kentucky” meal. In this meal, you will get the following: a drumstick, a breast fillet, lettuce, and a cup of coleslaw. It will be available on select Japan Airlines flights from December 1 until February. In this respect, Air Kentucky seems to be seasonal for the Christmas holidays and the winter season.
According to news reports, KFC is popular in Japan especially around Christmas time. Many young people in Japan, according to reports, enjoy buying KFC during the holiday season. If you are in Japan during the holidays, you can always get a few buckets of KFC. According to KFC, in an AFP report, the concept of fried meat let alone fried chicken has become popular for festivals. This dates back from the 1970s in Japan. This was because chicken was readily available while turkey was not.
For the time being, if you're on a certain flight from Japan to either the US or Europe, you can enjoy some Air Kentucky as your airline meal.
