Laina, known as the "Overly Attached Girlfriend," is using her newly found Internet stardom to give back to charity. This all began from a parody video of Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend."
Laina, also known as Laina Walker on YouTube, achieved Internet stardom through a parody video of Justin Bieber's hit song “Boyfriend.” It originated from a challenge from Bieber for fans to create a counterpart called “Girlfriend.” Laina came up with her version which she portrayed herself as a psychotic overly attached girlfriend. The maniacal look on her face became famous as it became an internet meme called “Overly Attached Girlfriend.” Many people have created their own OAG memes, including one made by this very article author.
However, Laina aka OAG hasn't stopped with just that. She went and made her own parody and original music videos. In the CNN video, Laina talks about the money she's made from the popularity due to revenue sharing. Instead of keeping it all to herself, Laina used her Internet fame to generate funds for charity. Recently, she has helped raise money for an autism awareness group.
Asides from that “Girlfriend” video, Laina has made other interesting videos. One recent music video is called “Overly Attached Computer.”
There's the YouTube skit called “Breaking Up with Overly Attached Girlfriend.”
There's also the “Gangnam Style” craze getting the undivided attention of OAG.
