Riyadh - Dismissing rumours started by Saudi medical staff that King Abdullah was clinically dead, the 89-year-old monarch was shown on Saudi state television receiving well-wishers.
The appearance of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Azizi on state television ends the rumours that he was clinically dead. The Business Recorder reported he was shown seated in the hospital that bears his name, the King Abdul Aziz Medical City for the National Guard in Riyadh.
According to Al Arabiya the King appeared to be in good health. Until today all visitor's had been received by his son Mitaab.
Reports of the King Abdullah's demise had led to speculation over his successor, though officially Crown Prince Salman has been named as successor.
