Jerusalem - After news circulating in Israel this morning that Ehud Barak was joining together with Tzipi Livni - head of the opposition 'Kadima,' it seems the defense minister and one time prime minister has decided to leave politics.
According to Ynet and Haaretz , Barak announced that he will not be running in the upcoming elections and he says of his departure that he wants to spend more time with his family, study, write, and enjoy life.
Haaretz quoted Barak a saying:
"I believe that it is important to make way for fresh faces – a turnover in positions of power is a good thing." "I made the decision not without qualms but ultimately with a whole heart."
