The pop music number 'Gangnam Style', a dance track by South Korean pop group PSY, is officially YouTube's most-watched video of all time.
"Gangnam Style" is a K-pop single by the South Korean music artist PSY. The song was released on July 15, 2012.
Since the video of the song was posted onto YouTube it has become the Internet site's most watched video of all time, exceeding over 810 million views.
Prior to the PSY track, the most watched video was Justin Bieber's single "Baby".

Billboard notes that the phrase "Gangnam Style" is a Korean word that refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam District of Seoul. According to the L.A. Times, the song talks about "the perfect girlfriend who knows when to be refined and when to get wild."
The song falls within the highly popular genre K-pop. K-pop, Time points out, is an abbreviation of Korean pop. K-pop is a musical genre consisting of dance, electronic, electropop, hip hop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea.
According to the BBC, 'Gangnam Style' won best video at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards and it has also been number one in 28 countries. This includes Canada and the U.K. The track peaked at number 2 in the U.S.
The artist known as PSY was born Park Jae-sang in 1977. MSNBC states that he is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, and record producer. Jae-sang was born to an affluent family in Gangnam District. He has released five albums to date: 2001: 'PSY from the PSYcho World!';
2002: 'Sa 2/Adult only'; 2002: '3 PSY'; 2006: 'Ssa Jib'; and 2010: 'PSY Five'.
