Dallas - Actor Larry Hagman, aged 81, passed away on Friday, November 23, at Medical City Dallas hospital. It is reported that the actor died from complications connected with the type of cancer he was fighting.
The Associated Press on Twitter tweeted "BREAKING: "Dallas" star Larry Hagman, scheming oil baron J.R. Ewing on TV's long-running soap, dies at 81."
IMDb news reports that the TV icon Larry Hagman, born Larry Hageman in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 21, 1931, and famous for his role as JR Ewing in the TV series Dallas has passed away in Dallas after battling from complications from a form of throat cancer.
Larry Hagman shot to fame as J.R. Ewing in the original Dallas on CBS and the continuation series on TNT.
Associated Press have published a statement from the family provided by Warner Bros., producer of "Dallas."
"Larry was back in his beloved hometown of Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved the most," the family said. "Larry's family and closest friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday."
