It's only been a few hours since the madness known as Black Friday began, but some videos are already making their way onto YouTube. One video shows shoppers going berserk over cellphones, while another shows a consumer cussing out the store.
The stories are endless. There have been numerous reports of deaths, injuries and arrests during Black Friday over the years, the day where consumers gather at department stores and at shopping malls and spend money they don’t have on things they don’t need.
At least the calamities that occur at Walmart, Target and Best Buy provide entertainment for the prudent individuals or those who rather do their holiday shopping online and find even better deals.
So far, there have been no reports of deaths or injuries. This is most likely due to the fact that most retailers heightened security.
Here are five videos that have been uploaded on YouTube since Thursday that show how we become consumption zombies for all things cellphones, toasters, USB disks and anything else that will most likely be cheaper after Jan. 1.
Please note that some of these videos aren’t just prone to the United States, but you will see one even in Norway. I presume that consumption mentality is global.
In the words of Charlie Brown as well as my patented application of my palm to my forehead, “Good grief.”
This list may change as the day progresses when YouTube users upload more footage.
