article imageEDL national demo to be held outside Wandsworth Prison

Wandsworth - The English Defence League is organising a national demonstration on Saturday, outside the prison where EDL leader Tommy Robinson is being held on remand.
The EDL website tells its supporters “Don’t let Britain down, don’t let Tommy down. Be there to shout your support, shout out ‘Bail for Tommy, Jail for Qatada’, ‘Bail for Tommy, Jail for Qatada!’”
This is in reference to known terrorist threat, Abu Qatada, who has been described as Osama Bin Laden’s right hand man in Europe. The UK government has failed to deport him back to Jordan in case it affects his human rights (the human rights of the British people were not taken into consideration).
However, it has successfully jailed Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) who is viewed by many as a defiant voice of English resistance, in stark contrast to a weak, militant Islamist appeasing government.
A message on the English Defence League – London Division Facebook group, (which has over 4,000 ‘likes’) says, “We need to muster at 12:30ish at the prison. We need plenty of Patriots for this one.”
The demonstration will start at 1pm at the following location:
HMP Wandsworth

Heathfield Road

SW18 3HS
The demonstration will take place just three days before Tommy’s 30th birthday.
Other protests expected around the world on the same day
The EDL website says “all around Europe people will be congregating at British embassies and consulates to protest at Tommy Robinson’s politically motivated imprisonment.” It goes on to say “(the EDL) enjoys the support of thousands of people across Europe and in America and Canada as they protest on the very same day.”
A demonstration will be held in Paris at 3pm at the Statue of Winston Churchill at the junction of Avenue Winston Churchill and Cours de la Reine, near to the Métro Champs Elysées Clémenceau.
A weekly vigil is being held outside the British Embassy in Berlin every Thursday until the release of Tommy Robinson.
