Spain has been experiencing a three-day strike
by garbage collection workers and the garbage has been piling up.
While the local municipalities appealed to the public not to leave rubbish on the streets during the strike period, some Spanish citizens found novel, and very appropriate places, to put their bags of garbage - at the doors of the banks.
has been trending for a few days on Twitter with the hashtag #tubasuraalbanco
and people have been leaving their deposits over the last few days.
However, the major call for yesterday was, this Thursday 22 November, deposit the garbage in the doors of the banks. And people did.
As Spain continues to suffer through the economic crisis, with more than 25% unemployed, the majority of Spaniards place the blame fairly and squarely on the banks and politicians.
While the photos posted here show a little garbage, the video shows some much larger "deposits."
