Hip-Hop moguls 50 Cent and Birdman took some time out of their busy schedules to serve Thanksgiving meals to people in need in their respective communities.
50 used proceeds from sales of his energy drink, SK as well as SMS headphones to team up with Feeding America, the Food Network and SMS for the "Our Table Is Yours" event at Cipriani, an Italian restaurant in New York City, Contact Music reports.
1,000 meals were provided to victims of Hurricane Sandy and other New Yorkers in need of food.
"I'm able to provide meals for victims of Sandy or other people in New York City that actually don't have food," the rapper told MTV News.
As far as 50's own Thanksgiving plans are concerned, he us celebrating at his grandmother's house. "I don't cook," he revealed. "I'll go to my grandmother's house. It's always safe to eat there. You know the food is always decent."
Meanwhile, Cash Money CEO Birdman, also got into the holiday spirit this week. He and his brother Ronald "Slim" Williams joined together to hand out 2,000 turkeys to families in New Orleans. This has been a longstanding tradition for Birdman and his brother, HipHopDX reports.
Last year, YMCMB rapper Lil' Wayne joined in the festivities. He was planning to participate again this year, but due to his recent seizure, doctors advised him not to travel, TMZ reports.
Weezy suffered a seizure on his private jet last month. The plane had to make an emergency landing and the rapper was rushed to the hospital.
The rapper revealed Wednesday he has been taking anti-seizure medication, The New York Times reports.
