Despite relentless rocket fire from Gaza and a terror attack on a bus in Tel Aviv, Israel is expected to hold fire from 9pm Wednesday evening.
Ynet report that as part of agreement with US, Israel will hold fire Wednesday evening with the expectation that Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Resistance Committees and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine will follow and hold their fire as well.
Ynet report that according to a senior Israeli official, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is in Cairo, has requested both sides to hold their fire.
Israel is aware that the terror groups in Gaza will continue firing for a short while after the cease-fire commences.
The ceasefire agreement is thought to be similar to that which ended Operation Cast Lead fours years ago.
As the clock ticks closer to 9pm, air raid sirens sound across the south of Israel as
both sides continue to attack each other and Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Ehud Barak announce a cease-fire on Channel 10 news.
