Katy - Police in Texas say they have arrested Ronald Scott Catt, 50, his 20-year-old son Hayden and his 18-year-old daughter Abigail on charges of bank robbery in two states. Police say the three may be responsible for seven bank robberies in two states.
The Huffington Post reports that Ronald Catt, 50, and his children were arrested on Nov. 9 on suspicion that they were behind an armed robbery at the Cinco Ranch credit union in Katy, north Fort Bend County, Texas, on October 1.
ABC News reports that Deputies with the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office in Texas, say the family, which recently moved to the area, could also be responsible for several other robberies in Texas and Oregon.
The family may have links to bank robberies dating as far back as 10 years in many western states, the Yamhill Valley New-Register reports.
According to Fort Bend County Sheriff's office, Dad Scott and son Hayden wore reflective orange safety vests when they robbed the credit union in Katy, TX. Surveillance footage shows an armed man police believe to be Scott, wearing a hat, dark sunglasses, rubber gloves, a painter's mask and orange safety vests. A younger man believed to be Hayden is shown wearing a fake mustache. The two armed men emptied cash from the vault and daughter Abigail drove the getaway car, also spotting a fake mustache.

CNN reports that investigators traced the vests marked with an "X" to a store where they were up for sale. The store's security footage revealed that Hayden and Abby bought the vests at the store. According to Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office: "While viewing videotapes at the checkout counters, [investigators] identified Hayden and Abby Catt purchasing the vests with their father's debit card. Ronald Catt was later identified purchasing a painter's mask."
According to The Huffington Post, Scott and his family relocated to Texas over summer.
A friend of the family said Scott was "a devoted, single father to his children," ABC News reports. Eric Lundeen, an acquaintance the Catt family, told ABC News, "they seemed really solid community members." He said: “[Scott] was a single dad. I think he lost his wife and he had the responsibility to take care of his kids and I got to tell you, he was there for them."
Scott applied for a marriage license in 1998, but divorced his wife two years later after she was convicted in a case of domestic assault. He was arrested in 2011 for driving without a valid license.
Neighbors say he recently lost his job, and according to KATU, the family's previous home was apparently turned over to a mortgage company.
Yamhill Valley News Register reports "Hayden and Abby were honor students at their McMinnville high school and members of the swim team."
The Huffington Post reports Scott and Hayden are being held in the county jail on $140,000 bond, while Abigail's bond was set at $100,000.
