The launch trailer for "Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2" is available for viewing. In this game, Mickey Mouse joins forces with a very old character: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
The launch trailer for “Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2” is now available for viewing. The game itself was released yesterday on November 18 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Wii U. It's supposedly to be released on December 10 to Microsoft Windows. This is one of the several titles launched with the launching of the Nintendo Wii U which is the portable version of the Nintendo Wii. This is perhaps one of the biggest Disney games. While the game stars Mickey Mouse, the flagship character for Disney, it co-stars a very old character “Oswald the Rabbit.” However, Oswald was created before Mickey Mouse.
One can ask: What happened to Oswald?
In a brief video on Oswald, Mickey Mouse was created because Walt Disney had lost the rights Oswald decades ago to the distributor he was contracted worked for. When Disney asked for more funding to provide better quality, the distributor said “no.” On top of that, the distributor took Disney's staff and the rights to Oswald. If Disney had kept the rights to Oswald back then, then Mickey Mouse would probably never have been created.
Back in 2006, the Disney company got the rights back to Oswald. Now, Oswald will be in a Disney game for the first time. For the game, a major story sub-plot will involve the relationship between Mickey and Oswald.
Perhaps Oswald will make appearances in future Disney games. If Disney and Square Enix continues to collaborate together on more “Kingdom Hearts” titles, perhaps Disney will bring Oswald the Rabbit into the fold.
