What do you do after finishing your second unsuccessful run for President of the United of States? If you're Mitt Romney, you take your wife to see the new Twilight movie.
The gossip site
TMZ posted fuzzy pictures of Romney and his wife Ann, who apparently were spotted at a Sunday screening of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2" along with two unidentified young men in Del Mar, California.
"After the movie, Mitt and Ann (with no bodyguards in sight) hit up a pizza place across the street," TMZ.com reported. "We're told he was super-friendly to everyone, even posing for a few pics."
According to
10NEWS.com, Romney owns an oceanfront beach home in La Jolla, several miles from Del Mar.
NY Daily news says Romney first admitted that he was a fan of the “Twilight”series during a 2011 interview on NBC’s “Today” show, after he was asked about books he had recently read.
“I like silly stuff too,” he said. “I mean, I like the ‘Twilight’ series. I thought that was fun.”
“You like vampires?” the surprised interviewer asked.
“I don’t like vampires personally. I don’t know any,” he said with a laugh. “But you know, my granddaughter was reading it and I thought, 'Well this looks like fun.' And so I read that.”
Comedian Bill Maher wasn't surprised Romney liked the vampire series. On Sunday, he took to Twitter and compared Mitt Romney to a vampire.
"Just read Twilight written by Mormon," he
tweeted, "- makes sense, cuz like Romney its about a semihuman who lives in fantasy world and sucks on our blood (sic)."
